With current Newton Mayor Setti Warren running for governor, three city councilors and four other residents have announced their hopes to fill the vacant Mayoral seat. This includes Ruthanne Fuller, who is an at-large councilor from Ward 7.

“We certainly need a mayor who will listen carefully and be committed to [the] core goal of being an inclusive and diverse city,” said Fuller to the Boston Globe. She continued to emphasize the need to develop detailed master plans for each of Newton’s village centers that consider issues like transportation, economic growth, and housing.
