Newton Mayoral candidate and City Councilor Ruthanne Schwartz Fuller celebrated her first place finish in the Garden City’s September 12th preliminary election for Mayor.
Fuller topped the ticket with 5,234 votes, winning 19 of Newton’s 32 precincts (Lennon won 9, and Sangiolo 4).
In front of a packed room of supporters at Terry O’Reilly’s Pub, Fuller said, “Newton needs a strong, independent leader to make the Garden City an even better place. My 30 years of experience in the private, public, and non-profit sectors gives me a unique perspective on thinking ahead to make government work for Newtonians, and I have a clear vision to improve life in our city for decades to come.”
