NEWTON – Ruthanne Schwartz Fuller, a city councilor-at-large running for Mayor of Newton has officially launched her campaign website, including detailed policy position papers on education, infrastructure & transportation, and for Newton’s neighborhoods and village centers. Fuller’s platform can be viewed at www.ruthannefuller.com/issues.
“I am deeply committed to our community, and I know we can make a Newton a model for getting things done and for getting them done right. As Mayor, I will work collaboratively with you to ensure our schools continue to thrive, our streets are fixed and infrastructure updated, and government is responsive and fiscally responsible, all while supporting livable neighborhoods and thriving village centers.”
Fuller continued, “To achieve these goals, Newton needs a clear plan. In the coming months, I will provide more detailed policy positions outlining my vision for Newton’s future.”
Fuller will continue releasing policy papers on her website (www.ruthannefuller.com) throughout the spring into the summer. In addition to details on Fuller’s platform, the website includes information on local meet and greets and ways to volunteer for the campaign.
Ruthanne Schwartz Fuller was first elected to the Board of Alderman in 2009 and currently serves as a city councilor-at-large from Newton’s Ward 7. She is best known for her successful, years-long efforts to improve Newton’s infrastructure and long-term fiscal health. Prior to holding elected office, Fuller served as Vice Chair of the Citizen’s Advisory Group – a group tasked with identifying Newton’s structural deficits and proposing important municipal reforms to address them. Fuller has worked for 30 years as a Strategic Planner for non-profit organizations and businesses, including WGBH, and formerly served on the boards of Facing History & Ourselves, City Year-Boston, and the Boys & Girls Club of Boston. She is a graduate of Brown University and Harvard Business School.
